Monster Clutch Install Questions?

Hey guys, Ive never have installed a clutch before.... I have two friends that are Mustang Fox Body fanatics that have done their share of clutch jobs on their own vehicles.. They are both willing to help me with the install but want me to make sure we have everything before we get into putting it in.... Here's what i have so far...
Monster Level 3 clutch and flywheel.. 28lb
GTO slave
ARP bolts
Red LocTite
DOT 3 Brake fluid

That's pretty much it...... Is there any special tools or anything else that I will need to get before we start the install? Any tips or things I need to look out for that may help me? We will be doing this on a vehicle lift as well....

You must have a clutch install tool if you don't want to start cursing up a storm. haha

But it's straight forward. Take off the exhaust from the trans back, then the driveshaft. Raise the trans jack and unbolt the trans support. I've found taking the transmission off the bellhousing first is easier, but many argue the opposite because it adds a step. For me, I just like making all bolts easy to reach because I can blow through it that way.

I'd use DOT 4 non-synthetic fluid, stated on here multiple times in various threads.

No matter what clutch, make sure you correctly measure for your "a dimension".

If you get the Monster kits, they include the new pilot bearing, as well as the new throwout bearing/slave assembly.

I'd also opt for a speed bleeder if the budget provides. I'd go DOT 4 also. While yours is an '06 and not suceptible to the rear main seal/rear cover gasket like '04's were, I'd still either order the gasket and seal just to have on hand, or if you don't want to spend, find a dealership that has them in stock and can readily get them to you if you should notice oil seepage from around the main seal area and/or the rear gasket. It's easier to fix it now, while in Rome, rather than having to fix it later.

Do not actuate the slave by pumping on the clutch pedal if the unit is not fully installed in the car, in it's place, in an effort to bleed. You will explode the unit essentially and you'll have to go buy another one. Just gravity bleed it.

Everything is pretty straight forward. Once you're down to just the transmission to remove, remove it at the bellhousing, then remove the bellhousing. Don't forget the little plastic shields around the starter and such (that you'll end up removing), when you re-install. The other PITA will be getting the shift knob off.

For a little cheap insurance have your clutch, pressure plate, and fly wheel balanced. I just had my Monster lever 2 balanced before it was installed and it was a little out. A good idea with any new clutch, doesn't matter the brand. Then enjoy it when it's in.

Who did you have do the balancing, and what is the ballpark cost to have this done? Thanks!

Millenium Motorsports in Temecula, Ca did the balancing. Cunningham Motorsports did the install. The balance was $100.
